Whitsome Village Hall CommitteeThis group is responsible for the management of the hall and is working towards the new community building detailed on the Home page. The committee hold their monthly meetings in the village hall. They also run events in the hall from time to time. Whitsome Enhancement Group This group is responsible for the planting of shrubs, bulbs and annuals in the village and the loaning. It takes the lead role in entering various competitions such as Scotland in Bloom.It also puts up an amazing display of Christmas lights and organises a sociable switching on ceremony which raises funds for a local charity.
The group meets in the village hall and also runs occasional events. Whitsome Village Fair This large village event which is held in June each year is organised by the members of both the above groups. The meetings to organise the Fair are held in the hall. | Whitsome SWRI This group meets monthly from September to May and puts on a programme of speakers and activities and holds an annual trip. The SWRI also hold an annual Country Dance.
The regular meetings and the Country Dance take place in the hall. Whitsome Senior Citizens Group This group is run by a committee who organise a programme for older people from Whitsome. It also attracts older people who used to live in Whitsome but have now moved and provides a wonderful opportunity for links to be maintained. The programme includes speakers, slide shows, games, and outings. The group meet each month in the hall. |
