IntroductionRoxburgh Association of Voluntary Service (RAVS) is an independent voluntary organisation established in 1973, to support, inform and provide resources to all types of voluntary and community groups in the former Roxburgh District area of the Scottish Borders. RAVS, Jedburgh Office. Illustrated by Dave Morrow.
RAVS is a Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) - one of four who, together, cover the whole of the Borders. There are 58 CVS across Scotland, all working to a national standards framework and supported by the Scottish Executive. What we can do for you- Do you have an idea for setting up a local group?
- Are you planning a project that will benefit your community?
- Could you do with some funding information or help with your grant application?
- Would you like help with your constitution?
- Are you seeking charitable status?
- Are you trying to develop as an organisation?
- Would you like help managing your accounts?
- Do you want to know where your group fits into the bigger picture?
- If your answer is YES to any of these questions, then RAVS can help you!
Management and StaffRAVS is closely linked to the community it serves. Our volunteer management committee is drawn from our membership and we employ a variety of staff to carry out the work of the organisation. Membership of RAVSAt the very core of RAVS is its membership. This growing body of voluntary organisations reflects the diversity of life in this area of the Scottish Borders. There are groups representing the environment, young people, youth, the elderly, the arts, social care, sports, disabled and community groups. By offering a range of information and services, RAVS supports its member organisations and in turn, by joining RAVS, ultimately our local community is improved. You don't have to be a member to receive support from RAVS, but we welcome the closer contact.
