The skydive Mr Greaves had organised has unfortunatley been cancelled due to unforseen circumstances. The cancellation occured on the actual day of the jump after John had made the long trip up to Strahallen and underwent the instruction and safety briefing. The Instructer refused John permission at the last minute to complete the jump, due to medical reasons.

This free and confidential service is available to owner-occupiers and private tenants who are at least 60 years of age or anyone with a disability. Borders Care and Repair is provided by a team based in the Selkirk office. They can visit you in your own home and provide any of the services listed below. Border Care and Repair will ensure that all work carried out is by reliable tradesmen from their approved list of contractors. Home Improvements This service provides advice on improvements and repairs which would be essential to bring the house up to basic standards. Borders Care and Repair staff will visit you in your home, advise if the work would qualify for a grant, and complete all the necessary paperwork on your behalf to apply for any grant assistance that may be available. All grants are means tested. If you are on Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, or the Guarantee element of Pension Credit you may receive a 100% grant, up to £20,000, depending on funds being available from SBC at the time the grant is submitted for approval. A reducing scale of grant is then awarded based on your financial situation, to obtain more advice contact Care and Repair. What type of work may be eligible for a grant?
