NHS Borders Freedom of Information

What is the Freedom of Information Act (FOI) (Scotland) Act 2002?

The FOI (Scotland) Act 2002 came into force on 1st January 2005.  The act aims to increase openness and accountability by ensuring that any person requesting information from a public body like the NHS will receive that information, subject to certain exemptions.    The Act also requires us to adopt and maintain a Publication Scheme which lists the types of information we will regularly publish.

The NHS Borders Publication Scheme and other key documents are available by clicking on the Publications link on the left hand side of this page.
