SPRING FUN DAY

APRIL 2008

Another lovely sunny day on Saturday 19th April for our Annual Spring Fun Day - we do always seem to be lucky.  The day started with a children's Treasure Hunt in Elibank Park followed by the Duck Race. Here you can see 1,000 blue and yellow ducks just after they were dropped from the bridge.  Have a look in our Photo Album for more pictures

NO ESCAPE

All in the line of duty - former Community Council Chairman David Pye up to his waist in Eddleston Water.  Not many escaped his clutches

EDDLESTON'S GOING QUACKERS

ANNUAL DUCK RACE

CATCHING THE DUCKS

This year the ducks sailed down so quickly that I didn't get to the finishing line fast enough to catch the first one to cross the winning line  - a far cry from last year when no 2 arrived a full 5 minutes after the winner.  In fact the whole thing was just about over in 5 minutes - then there was the fun of catching the ducks.  Some salied off down Eddleston water with several chilldren in hot pursuit

ANNOUNCING THE WINNERS

Fiona Holmes from the Village Hall Commitee announces the prizewinners and tells us that we've raised almost £700 for the Village Hall Funds.  First prize went to Rod Sinclair - see photo, Christine Mackay was second and young Matthew Oliver came third - well done everyone.
