THE PARISH OF EARLSTON

The main settlement is Earlston
(formerly Ercildoune) at the junction
of the A68 and the A6105.
There are several other villages
and hamlets within the parish - 
Birkenside, Fanns, Galadean,
Huntlywood, Legerwood and
Redpath.

Earlston

The Rhymer's Tower is used as the logo for the village and has a history dating back to the thirteenth century when it was recorded as the home of Thomas Learmont - Thomas the Rhymer - the first known poet in the local dialect.
