THE BRIDGE CHRISTMAS MARKETSaturday 21st November saw yet another successful Christmas Market for voluntary organisations organised by The Bridge, Tweeddale. Over £7,000 was raised for the 24 stallholders, Peebles Burgh Silver Band, Kingsmeadows Catering and The Bridge’s own Community Transport Project which benefited from the collection taken at the door. At a time when there are so many demands on people to give to different organisations it is encouraging to see that a local event can still raise so much money. Thank you to all those who came and gave their support and to those who made cakes, gifts and other items to sell for their organisation, it all added up to a colourful and enjoyable experience. Thank you also to the volunteers who helped to set up the hall ready for all the stall-holders on the Saturday morning and who then had to dismantle everything again at the end of the day. Arrangements have already started for next year when the Market will be held on Saturday 20th November. We look forward to seeing you all again.
