Selkirk

The Selkirk cluster forms the South Western portion of the Eildon Area of the Scottish Borders. The High School of Selkirk services seven primary schools, three of which are to be found within the town of Selkirk itself. Another three of the schools are to be found along the valleys with the remaining primary school situated in the village of Lilliesleaf to the East of the Town. Much of the area is unpopulated apart from the few scattered villages along the two valleys.

The main centre of population for the area is therefore Selkirk town itself, with a population of around 6000, with the total population for the area being 7,404. Of this 1,715 are between the ages of 0 and 18, with 471 being pre-school age (under 5).
