Welcome to Borders Family Ancestry

My last name is Corcoran and I was born in 1940 in Galashiels.  My main hobby is researching my Family History (Tree).  I am also a member of the Borders Family History Society (see useful websites).

I have created this site to help people to start researching their family tree.  I also have access to a large database of details of families from the Newcastleton area, including Elliotts, Armstrongs, etc.

My grandfather, Michael Corcoran, was born in 1865 at Jedburgh,and died in 1926 at Galashiels.

My grandmother, Elizabeth Jeffery Corcoran, nee Dodds was born in 1878 at Ladhope, Galashiels. and died in 1932 at Galashiels.

The couple seated in this photograph are my grandfather, Alexander Donald, born 1874 at Newcastleton and died in 1957 at Roxburgh Newtown Farm, St Boswells.

My grandmother, beside him, is Mary Donald, nee Douglas, born 1876 at Wilton Dean, Hawick and died at Pinnacle Hill Farm, Kelso.

My grandather worked at a variety of farms throughout the Borders, eventually becoming the steward at Roxburgh Newtown Farm, St Boswells.
