Local Action by Local People

Burnfoot Community Futures is the pilot Community Futures project for the Local Community Action Planning (LCAP) programme being driven by the Scottish Borders New Ways Community Planning Partnership and, in particular, the Vibrant Communities theme team of the partnership comprising Scottish Borders Council, NHS  Borders, Scottish Enterprise Borders, VisitScotland Borders, Borders College and Communities Scotland (through their Regeneration Outcome Agreement funding).

The Burnfoot Community Futures Steering Group was supported in its work by Geraldine Strickland from Roxburgh Association of Voluntary Service (now The Bridge, Roxburgh) who worked as the Community Agent helping with local contacts, the survey, interviews, meetings and with organising the Community Workshop.

The Community Futures work was led by Alan Tuffs from the Small Town and Rural Development Group (STAR).
