ADOPTING AN ANIMAL

If you are interested in giving one of our animals a new home we have an assessment process to try and make sure you are matched with an animal that will suit your lifestyle.

On contacting the Centre you will be asked a number of questions about your current circumstances and lifestyle. Then an arrangement to come a visit the animals will be made and follow up visits if it is a dog to make sure our dog is the right one for you.

A non refundable donation is asked for to help cover some of the costs BAWA has incurred in caring for you new pet. These can include vaccination, worming, de fleaing, neutering, treatment of any illness/injury, food, shelter, care and training as well as bedding and the safe warm kennel/pen they have been calling home. As you can imagine running an animal rescue is an expensive business and we try to minimise the costs with a volunteer committee managing the charity and having a role in the day to day management of the Centre.

We do Home Checks for all dogs and some of the other animals and also follow up with phone calls to help your new pet settle in their new home.
