Registered Scottish Charity No. SC001583

Have had to add a second dog re-homing page as the last one I made to keep us going until the new web site takes over has also stopped allowing me to enter any information. We are hoping to have a new web site up and running by April, fingers crossed. The team will be trained in using the new site during March and will then work on our new site. Who would have a web site eh! Think I need to do a course!!!
Comments and suggestions for improving our web site would be extremely helpful so please do email us at bawacentre@tiscali.co.uk or phone us on 01896 849090. We enjoy keeping the site up to date as it really does help find new homes for our animals and your help would be invaluable.

Please phone us if you have any queries about the information on our site at present as the majority of the pages will be unchanged for a while.

Nearly up to date with moving the dogs from the first temporay web page to the second. Please bear with me as it takes time to get this done as well as all the other work needed by the charity.....and letting out the dogs and cats yesterday took precedence. The Animal Care Assistant was doing a home visit to our fostered diabetic cat, Albert, as he had been showing signs of not being well. Vet took bloods and have a new programme of care for him which will hopefully make him a happier little cat.

PET OF THE WEEK

OUR OLDER CATS

This week we are putting out a speical appeal for some of our older residents.  These are cats that have come into us for no fault of thier own, but struggle to find homes because of age!
Cassie adores attention and is a very chatty girl, who loves to sit on some ones lap, she is 18 years young and is in very good health.  Tikka is a 9 year old female, who again adores a cuddle.  Sumi is a stunning 6 year old ginger and white female who is quite independent but still loves a lap to curl up on. These are just a few of our longer term residents.
If you feel you could offer any of our delightful older cats a home please call the centre on 01896 849090

CHARITY SHOP

Our new charity shop has now opened at 90 Channel Street. Do come and visit us. The shop makes the majority of the income to run the rescue centre and without it we would be lost. Starting to update the charity shop page today.......again bear with me. Please continue to give the shop all the goods, including furniture, that you can. Our takings have gone down recently and it may be that people are not aware that we have moved. New shop is getting good reviews.

OUR CENTRE

Our Animal Centre is staffed 8am to 1pm and 3pm to 8pm to care for the animals. If you would like to see any of our animals please just give us a ring and we'll arrange a suitable time for you to come visit.

We do not have general open hours for the public as we try to keep our costs down by only employing staff needed to give animal care.

We introduce the dogs and help them to socialise with each other so they are out in the yard or the reception if it is bad weather. This means they are out of their kennels and pens as much as possible.

CALENDAR

Our 2010 calendar is printed and ready to go. They are only £4.50 this year, 50p cheaper than last year! What good value eh.

They are for sale at the rescue centre or at the Charity Shop in Overhaugh Street in Galashiels.

If you would like us to post them for you please send us £7 and we shall send one to whatever address you provide. A good Christmas present or a New Year gift. Would also make a lovely additional gift to show you care!

NEXT YEAR'S CALENDAR
Would you like to have your pet in next year's calendar.......2011......?

If you found your dog/cat/rabbit etc at our rescue centre just email us a favourite photo and we'll enter it in the competition for next year. Make sure the photo is a good clear picture, with no fuzzy bits. It must be a good quality or the company won't use it.

So getting snapping all of you rescue pet owners, we're waiting to see and hear how our beloved animals are doing in their new homes.
