Charity Shops

BAVS have three Charity Shops, one in Eyemouth, one in Duns and the third in Coldstream. Each shop is staffed by a paid manager plus a friendly team of volunteers who man the shop on a rota basis. A new rota is drawn up every month to ensure that volunteering with BAVS is flexible and fits in with the lifestyle of each individual volunteer! Without volunteers, BAVS Charity Shop in Eyemouth would not have been able to run so smoothly and successfully for the past 12 years. Volunteers have also played a huge part in establishing BAVS in Coldstream.

Each shop stocks a large assortment of goods at realistic and affordable prices, from the humble egg cup to designer clothes. 

Each shop is also an information point, displaying leaflets and posters about various local groups and events, along with advice about becoming a volunteer.

Proceeds from the sale of goods are used to support charities and various community groups throughout Berwickshire.

Eyemouth

The first BAVS Charity Shop was set up in 1993 at Renton Terrace in Eyemouth. In 2000 the shop moved to it's current location in North Street. Over the years the shop has become fundamental to Eyemouth community life.  If you have any small electrical items and require them to be PAT tested, take them along to the shop and for a small fee Julie will do them for you.

Coldstream

The Coldstream branch opened in 2004 in Market Square. The shop quickly attracted a team of willing volunteers and has played a vital part in establishing BAVS in Coldstream.

Duns

Duns opened their charity shop  in Golden Square and opened on the 19 June 2007.  They have recently moved to larger premises over the road into Market Square (the old Londis shop), where there is much more room, so should be able to hold a larger variety of stock. 

They are currently looking for volunteers, so if you think you could help out for a few hours each week, pop into the shop and speak to Rene the manager.
