Training Content for Learning for ALL The Adult Literacies project Learning for ALL provides the following training:
Introductory Training in Adult Literacies Learning - ITALL (For volunteer tutors and tutors who are new to the Scottish adult literacies context) This training can be accredited and consists of 3 units and makes up an SQA Professional Development Award at Higher level (SCQF level 6). The three units are: · Adult Literacies Learning in Scotland · Working with Adult Learners · Learning and Teaching in Adult Literacies The aim of the training is to support people to become effective tutor assistants in adult literacies (notional 40 hours learning). This training is for volunteer tutors and tutors new to literacies learning.  ITALL will enable people to: · Explain the current context of adult literacies in Scotland · Explain the key principles of good practice in adult literacies provision · Reflect on how to build appropriate relationships with adult literacies learners · Reflect on how to support the learning process with adult literacies learners · Identify appropriate learning activities in conjunction with the learner to promote adult literacies learning · Deliver, under supervision, appropriate learning activities to promote adult learning Your local worker or the Literacies Co-ordinator, Claire Stewart will be able to give you details of when training is available.
