Family Carers, Neighbours or FriendsCaring for someone can be very rewarding; it can also be very tiring and stressful. The stress of being a carer is often under-estimated and misunderstood by people who have never been a carer themselves. It may mean life changes and giving up things you enjoy - juggling work and caring commitments. You may be a related to the person you look after, a partner, neighbour or friend. You may be a young carer (aged 16 and under) looking after a disabled parent, or an older person caring for a lifelong partner. There is a wealth of information about how and where to get help in the 'Information for Carers' handbook which is available from: - Princess Royal Trust Borders Carers Centre
